Spotlight on: C/ Borriana
Find out why we call this place Enchanting Ensanche

Welcome to the Spotlight Series!
We’re kicking off a new segment that takes you behind the rental listing and gives you a feel for what it’s really like to call our Stepping Stone home. And don’t just take our word for it- you’ll hear directly from the guests who’ve stayed with us, sharing exactly what they loved. In true Stepping Stones style, we’ll also include any little gripes or quirks so you know exactly what to expect.
The goal of this series is to give future renters an honest, well-rounded picture of each property. We’ll dive into the key features, highlight the local surroundings and cover the overall guest experience. Today is the turn of one of our favourites, on Calle Borriana otherwise known as ‘Enchanting Ensanche’ so let’s jump into it.
A Closer Look Inside
What’s not to love about this property? As one of our largest city-centre listings, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom apartment is a dream for families or larger groups. Each bedroom comes with a double bed, built-in storage, and ceiling fans, while the stylish décor brings warmth and character, the owners have done an incredible job making the space feel truly homely.
The apartment is cleverly split into two sections: the bedrooms are tucked away at the back, keeping them quiet, calm, and perfectly insulated. Towards the front, the open-plan kitchen flows into the dining and living areas, creating a bright center to the home. The kitchen is stocked with everything you could possibly need, and then some.
Our rentals are held to a high standard, and we make sure each one is equipped not just with the basics, but with everything the owners themselves would expect to have, making your stay as smooth and comfortable as possible. My favourite amenity? The professional coffee machine – ideal for those mornings when you want to skip the (admittedly very tempting) cafés right on your doorstep.
The apartment comes with all the essentials, including a washer and dryer, and the owners even provide handy user manuals and “how-to” notes. It’s a thoughtful touch, especially since some appliances can have their own quirks that only become obvious through trial and error. According to our recent tenants “ We felt it had everything we needed!”
The living area feels bright and spacious, anchored by an L-shaped sofa that creates a cosy corner for relaxing after a busy day of being out and about. My favourite part has to be the wrap-around terrace. Two sliding doors lead out to a long, sunny space, perfect for breakfast in the morning, a quiet evening drink, or simply enjoying the leafy views along Calle Borriana. It’s a simple, inviting spot that adds a lot to the overall feel of the apartment.
In the Neighbourhood
Located in the heart of Canovás, Calle Borriana is one of Valencia’s most sought-after spots-and it’s easy to see why. Just a short stroll from the Río Turia, it’s perfect for families: little ones can burn off energy at Parc Gulliver, or skate over to the Arts and Science Museum for a sunset picnic. In fact, our recent tenants loved it so much, they’re moving to a long term rental in the area! “We loved Gran Via! It has all the amenities we needed and was a very central location for us to learn the city!”
But Canovás isn’t just about green spaces, it’s buzzing with cafés, bars, and restaurants. We asked our tenants for their favourites:
“We loved Kaffeina – they had loads of vegan and gluten-free options!”
Other coffee spots on Calle Borriana include COPPER COFFEE, where the unique sweet and savory treats pair perfectly with high-quality coffee. Bonus: it’s an ideal spot to work remotely without wandering far from home. You’ll find East Crema Coffee on the corner, but be warned- it’s pretty pricey!
Speaking of working remotely! When you find yourself in the mood to crank out the laptop but also want to feel a bit of humanly productive buzz head for 1 of these two work spots: The co-working/cafe Miksi or the famed way cool WAYCO. They are both on opposite corners from each other.
Foodies, take note. On Calle Borriana itself you’ll find high quality spots such as Il Cortile, Los Compadres, and Grillo Grill. Head to Conde de Altea and explore some of Valencia’s best restaurants from around the world. Transport yourself to Asturias at La Taska with its cosy indoor patio, enjoy some of the city’s finest Indian cuisine at Swagat, or travel to Argentina with Cruz Pampa Asador. And that’s just on one street!
